Stephen Fry temporarily quits Twitter for safety reasons
OPENLY-gay actor and activist Stephen Fry announced this week he would be closing down his Twitter account due to safety concerns for a month until December.
While Fry does not specify in his tweet (below) what the safety concerns are, he mentioned to his 7.84 million followers that he was filming in a place where “it is safest not to tweet”.
The tweet ignited speculation that Fry would be somehow involved in the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens film, or that he was heading somewhere that has anti-gay laws in place.
Closing down on Twitter while filming. In a place whence I’ve been advised it is safest not to tweet. See you December. Here goes…

He is possible in a country filming a doco on a very touchy subject. Where any homosexual or even any Anglo-Saxon could be honestly in danger of being killed
Brilliant guy…and I understand totally his reasoning.
