The most Googled gays
US gay magazine The Advocate has compiled 2011’s most Googled gay and lesbian celebrities.
While out performers such as Zachary Quinto, Ellen DeGeneres, Jane Lynch, Adam Lambert, George Michael, Elton John and Neil Patrick Harris dominated the list, fashion icons such as Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen, blogger Perez Hilton and lesbian financial advisor Suze Orman also featured in the top 20.
Gay rights advocate Dan Choi and MSNBC news anchor Rachel Maddow came in at 10 and 11, showing it wasn’t just celeb power that got you Googled either.
Portia de Rossi was the only openly gay Australian to make the list, coming in at number 17.
The number one most Googled gay person for 2011 was Latino singing sensation Ricky Martin.
