Don’t put all your eggs in one basket this five-day Easter/Anzac weekend, Star Observer has the ultimate guide to the special events taking place over the break. Let the hunt begin…

Going rogue
This Easter, Rogue Dance has not one, but three events to choose from, including the massive Daywash party on Good Friday. Featuring UK DJ/producers Cahill and UK singer Abigail Bailey, it has a secret venue to be announced the night before the party. Then it’s off to Checkpoint Charlie on Good Friday night with Kitty Glitter and two UK surprises.
Easter Sunday is Rogue’s Boutique party, complete with hot bunny boys all night, it will feature Dan Murphy, Troy Cox, Dean Reid and Haylenise. Visit www.roguedance.com.au for more details.

Easter gossip
Gossip Sundays at Love Machine present an ‘Easter Playdate’ this weekend. You can join resident DJs Mr Stoj and Peter ‘Mona’ McNamara on the decks and hosts Paris, Nova China and Eddie Kaplan will keep you dancing until dawn. The night will feature a special live performance by The X-Factor’s Amanda Grafanakis, along with sexy Gossip Boys on the podiums. Doors open 9pm with guest list entry until 11pm.

John sees red
John party returns over this Easter weekend for ‘The Bull’ at New Guernic on Lt Collins St. With a swag of DJs including Mandate, DJ Kiti, the Sweats, Homorobtic and Sydney’s Big John, it’ll kick off at 10pm on Easter Sunday (April 24) and you can party on until the wee hours. Get the DTs
DTs will be open from the earlier time of 2pm on Good Friday, with a $7.50 BBQ at 7pm, DJ Dazz from 9.30pm and $250 to be won at 10.30pm. Saturday sees Dulcie Du Jour strut her stuff on stage from 10.30pm and happy hour from 8.30pm.

Easter Sunday, the gorgeous boys from Melbourne Surge water volley ball team will be hosting the afternoon sausage sizzle (with emphasis on the sizzle) with all proceeds raised going to the club.

Easter a-Peel
The Peel kicks off the Easter long weekend with Bad Boy Easter on Thursday night. Jay-Z will be playing all funky tunes and dance floor classics from 9pm. The Good Friday-A-Peel will see hits being played by Guy DJ and Mark Robbo, before a Super Easter Saturday with Jay-Z returning.

Anzac Day Cobber follows on Monday, with Mark Robbo in charge and Anzac Day celebrations from 9pm-dawn.

Heaven turns horror
Heavens Door Saturday is Play R’n’B with shows with Destiny and her dancers Leigh and Kelly plus DJ Rod G on the decks. Doors open from 10pm-5am. But Easter Sunday looks to be even more a highlight with a Rocky Horror night. Come dressed up in theme for chances to win prizes. There will be Rocky Horror-themed shows all night. Doors open from 9pm-late.

Libation gets egg-citing
Easter at Libation will see happy hour from 4-7pm, everyday until Saturday. Easter Thursday is sees special DJ John K Thursday playing your favourite tunes from the vault from 7pm. It’s an Easter Girl Thing Sunday starts from 2pm. An event for girls and all of their friends, it has great DJs playing tunes and great drink specials all night.

Salute the Laird
This year, Laird special event Combat falls on VicBears Den Night, so there’ll be a BBQ to kick things off on Saturday, followed by a night of sexy men parading around in search of the perfect training partner. The venue will be decked out in a ANZAC theme transforming the place into a combat zone.

Major Rub Down and Sargent Cut Throat will be at your service in the Field Tent, where you can get professional buzz cuts and rub-downs (sorry, no happy endings) until midnight. Audio Engineer Nick Shepherd will be in charge of music (requests for In The Navy or Bear Force One may not fulfilled).

Market madness
The Market’s five-day weekend of events features Denzel Park, and Trolly’d regulars Destiny Forbidden and Joel Creasey on Easter Friday, plus a very special house and garage Sunday night session with long-time residents Carmine S Romano and Tony Svehla taking you through from 9pm till 3am. Egg Xchange
The Xchange Hotel is open every day over Easter from 4pm with happy hour 5-7pm. The Dynamic Duo Easter Thursday has three special shows from 10pm starring Barbra Quicksand, Miss Candee and guests.

Good Friday sees Sondra and her hot boys on stage from 10pm with three shows, as well as DJ Steven Beale through to 3am. Easter Saturday is Burlesque with showgirls from 10pm.

Sunday Xchange will host an Easter buns contest where you can moon the audience behind the bun box for a potential $200 cash. Monday wraps up with Melbourne’s first Grindr party. Look for your Grindr invite on your smartphone this week. There will also be showerboys and flesh on screen all night.

Hop into Orlando
Its been a while since Orlando’s New Year’s Eve of Gay Abandon, so they’ve decided to finally act their age and end the Easter weekend with a night of measured fun at the Workers Club in Fitzroy on April 25. There’ll be vinyl records in the front bar, a back room of exposed beams, and dance hits to shake your middle-aged spread to. There will be drink specials and the $5 entry will be donated to good causes.

Get blown
Melbourne bad boys, the Blow Waves are storming in and taking over The Order of Melbourne (Level 1, 401 Swanston St), for another massive Good Friday Eve bash. After months in the studio, they’re back to give a free performance to family, friends and fans. Joining them will be sexy Sydney b-boy Melodiqa and support by DJ Butch Le Butch. It’s on Thursday, April 21 from 7pm.

Get Licked
Lick party hits tonight, April 21 for Good Friday eve. It will be held at Room680 at Hawthorn and will include dance routines, competitions, two rooms of music with resident DJs Nugget and Miss Beats with special guest DJs to be announced in the coming weeks.
