
Long wait on adoption reform
Same-sex couples wanting to adopt in NSW will have to keep waiting after a government report recommended against reform until at least the middle of next year.
The report, tabled in state parliament last week as part of a review of the Adoption Act, also looked at the issue of non-biological parents in a same-sex relationship adopting their partners’ biological children, again recommending more research before legislative change.
