It’s time to get snapping. ChillOut Festival 2009, in conjunction with the Ballarat International Foto Biennale, has announced a $3000 prize for the best photograph for the upcoming BIFB ChillOut Photography Exhibition.

Following on from last year’s successful exhibition, this year’s theme is -œdiversity. All forms of photographic still will be accepted, including analogue and digital photography, colour and monochrome.

The photos can be of any subject.

The exhibition will be open to the public from March 1 – 15 and again for the Ballarat International Foto Biennale from September 4 – October 4.

A panel of three judges will determine the winner, who will be announced at the Novotel Forest Resort, Creswick on the opening day.

The competition is open to everyone over the age of 18, with a maximum of three works per entrant.
ChillOut Festival is coming up soon, held on the Labour Day long weekend in March, and the exhibition will be open to festival-goers.

While the exhibition’s theme is diversity, ChillOut 2009’s theme this year is a homage to Saturday Night Fever, with the ’70s-inspired Disco Stampede.

Photographic entries are now open. Closing date is January 23.
