LGBTI tournament seeks players

The early bird deadline for entries to the Australasian Gay & Lesbian Open 2013 (AGLO) is Sunday, December 9. As well as Australia, entries have already been received from LGBTI players around the world, including the US, Argentina, Indonesia, Greece, France, Germany, the UK and Philippines. “We are tracking well with entries and the event is shaping up as being the biggest event Tennis Sydney has hosted,” said AGLO tournament director Dean Matterson.

“And it’s great to see an increase in the number of women who have entered the tournament.”

The tournament will consist of singles, doubles and mixed competition across all grades for men and women. The tournament is part of the Mardi Gras Festival and will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre from February 15-17, 2013.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.

Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
