Midsumma is doin’ it for the dame
Trevor Ashley belts out a big number“Trevor is a  great support of Midsumma, and Midsumma of Trevor” says an enthusiastic festival director of Midsumma Monique Thorpe , talking about ubiquitous  Trevor Ashley who is returning to Melbourne to channel the one and only Dame  Shirley Bassey in Diamonds are for Trevor.
“Having watched him grow from Liza on an E in 2011 to Gaybies in 2013 and now Bassey in 2014 – Midsumma is very proud to have Trevor a part of our festivities again”  Thorpe continued, making a special acknowledgment that as Ashley’s star shines brighter, he has remained a good friend of Midsumma.

Ashley’s performance in Gaybies brought the seasoned festival director to tears as he did a verbatim piece from the perspective of children of same-sex attracted parents, Thorpe confided to  the Star Observer.

“We see Trevor going from career highlight to career highlight. It’s such a thrill to watch and know that he still supports a Festival such as Midsumma”

Ashley’s Midsumma extended season is again collaborating again with writer Phil Scott (The Wharf Revue). Diamonds are for Trevor celebrates the musical legacy of one of the world’s most acclaimed concert artists in a stunning evening of song and storytelling, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra.
