Allkins’ birthday piss-up

Allkins’ birthday piss-up

Head to Phoenix Bar on October 30 for Piss Up, a big night of fun to celebrate the 50th birthday of Sydney dance music icon Stephen Allkins, a local treasure with over 30 years’ experience under his belt. Allkins will play extended sets through the night – yes, the poor guy’s working his own birthday party – with a little help from DJ and close friend Matt Vaughan.

From the original, disco-era of the late ‘70s to the earliest Mardi Gras and Sleaze parties, to the RAT parties at the Hordern of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. From legendary Sunday nights at Sublime and Phoenix to Civil Disobedience and beyond: Allkins was there, and still is an active member of the clubbing scene.

Working under the moniker [love] tattoo, his productions have created some of the most memorable dance albums in Australian dance music history.

info: Allkins promises his birthday sets will be a veritable greatest hits of his all-time favourite tracks. It’s $15 entry to the party, which runs from 10pm-late.
