Long Table networking night
SGLBA held another successful night of business networking last week.
We had a fantastic turnout with some first-timers and many of our regular members.
Des Penny, CEO and director of Proteus Leadership Centres, spoke. He had us all entertained with his wit, his intelligence and his passion. He shared with us his journey of creating his business some 18 years ago and some of the hurdles. He also shared some of the leadership qualities he teaches others today. Most of all, he shared with us his passion for what he does.
Well known gay ambassador Anthony Venn-Brown facilitated the networking opportunity. He essentially provided a space for people who didn’t know each other to meet in a fun way. He also got us to think about what we got from the talk Des gave.
Some of the feedback we have had: “This is a great event. It provides the opportunity to meet likeminded busines people from within the gay and lesbian community.” “I feel comfortable here because it’s about networking not picking up.” “A great space to share ideas and learn.”
The leaders of the Long Table breakfasts held in Surry Hills, Waterloo, Darlinghurst, the CBD, Erskineville and St Leonards were also introduced.
Our next Long Table canapes night is Tuesday, June 29.

it was a good night as these events consistently are and so in line with the charter and original intentions of the founders of the SGLBA
Good work team.
