Midsumma releases iPhone app

For those who want the latest information at their fingertips, Melbourne queer arts and cultural festival Midsumma has released its official iPhone app for the 2012 season.

It’s now the second year the festival has used the technology to share what’s going on during the three-week event.

The free Midsumma12 app, developed with software company eFirst Group, will keep punters informed with full access to the 2012 program where events can be browsed by date, venue and type.

Users will also be able to create a list of must-see events, check which shows are sold out, read news, interact with the festival through Facebook and
Twitter and view venue locations on Google Maps.

Most importantly, the app allows you to check the weather so you know when to leave your warm clothes at home or bring an umbrella.

The app is now available from the iTunes store.

Midsumma runs January 15 – February 5.
