Positive Living Centre gets cooking

ACON’s Positive Living Centre on Bourke St is increasing its lunch sessions to three days a week to keep up with demand for staples.

The centre’s staff said there has been an increase in the number of clients at the regular Tuesday breakfast and Friday lunch sessions as the cost of living increases.

To help meet the increased demand, the PLC is now providing homemade soup and bread on Thursday afternoons as well.

In addition, the centre now has six volunteer masseurs and a weekly yoga class, as well as a variety of other natural medicine specialists in areas such as acupuncture, acupressure, life coaching, herbal remedies and naturopathy. Short-term counselling is also available.

Centre staff would now like to start up the haircutting service again and are looking for anyone who would be able to volunteer their time and skills.

To volunteer your time phone the Centre on 9699 8756.
