Anglican leader met with protests

Archbishop of Canterbury and Global Anglican Communion leader Rowan Williams was stopped from entering the most important Anglican church in the Zimbabwean city of Mutare on October 11 by a breakaway anti-gay bishop and his followers.

Former Anglican bishop Nolbert Kunonga seized Mutare Anglican Cathedral and its former congregation has been forced to worship in the street.

Kunonga supporters denounced Williams for tolerating homosexuals in the church with placards reading “How can you invite homosexual in our soil” and “No to homosexuality.”

Kununga recently turfed out the staff of an Anglican orphanage caring for AIDS orphans by claiming they supported homosexuality.

  1. There is one thing to remember, only African heterosexual males are of importance on that continent. Therefore, Christianity and Islam, fit right into the African patriarchy way of control! If you want to do something to change things in Africa, start educating and freeing women which will have a flow on affect in the area of rights for people who are homosexual. Working with a wonderful lady from Kenya has been a huge education in regard to women’s rights, the role of religion and male heterosexual abuse and power on that vast continent!
