Hear the choral classics
Sydney Philharmonia Choirs will be performing a condensed collection of pieces from West Side Story, Porgy and Bess and Carmina Burana on May 14 and 15 at the Sydney Opera House. It’s All About The Rhythm will be performed at the
Opera House’s Concert Hall from 8pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday, with a pre-concert talk with conductor Brett Weymark 45 minutes prior to each performance.
The concert will comprise three 20th centry master composers and three powerful, classic works: West Side Story (Symphonic Dances) by George Gershwin, Porgy and Bess (Symphonic Picture) by Leonard Bernstein and Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
Over 450 singers will not fail to bring the energy, precision and sheer joy that this music demands, while Brett Weymark, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs Artistic Director will conduct and present this musical celebration with his characteristic flair and sense of fun.
