Brisbane set to show its Pride at Fair Day

FOR the second year in a row Brisbane Pride Festival’s Fair Day will return to its new home in New Farm Park on Saturday, following the traditional rally and march down Brunswick St.
Local and international talent will be on display during the day at the main stage, including Brisbane entertainers and US singer/songwriter Ryan Amador, who will take to the stage to perform his song Define Me — the inspiration behind this year’s festival theme “Define Me? More Than A Label”.
Amador will sing his song in a duet with local artist Lucinda Shaw.
The line-up of local performers and community favourites includes Kristy Apps and the Shotgun Shirleys along with Youthfire, Aimee Francis, Nikolaine Martin and Blue Honey, Chocolate Strings and Rawr Vanity.
The Brisbane Lesbian and Gay Pride Choir will also return to the main stage, which is the home to their first performance 15 years ago.
Fair Day mainstays the Mr and Mrs Pride competition, dog shows and local DJs will also keep the day pumping and entertaining.
The rally and march starts outside the Empire Hotel on Brunswick St, between Ann and McLachlan streets at 10am and leads down to the festivities at New Farm Park, which starts from 10.30am and runs till 5pm.
