BGF announced Bake-Off winners

This year’s Bake-Off results have been announced, with the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF) revealing that the June 3 charity event raised $25,000 to help fund its work providing support for people living with HIV in New South Wales.

More than 250 people attended Bake-Off’s 25th, or silver jubilee, event, held at Slide Bar. Attendance and money raised were down on last year’s sell-out $30,000+ event, something BGF CEO David Riddell attributed to the day’s unseasonably poor weather.

“Everyone braving the rain to support BGF just goes to show that Bake-Off still holds a special place in the hearts of so many in our community,” he said. “We had a superbly qualified judging panel led by Claire de Lune, with Shauna Jensen, and Kevin Perry from MasterChef.”

The winners were: Best Cake, Roy Hansen; Best Cake Professional, Ritsuho Sato and Naoko Ir; Best Decorated Cake, Jony Mok; Best Cupcakes, Jo Goh; Best Fete Baking, Johnathon McClay; Best Tart, Katrina Thompson; Best Preserves, Duncan Leonch; and Best Non-Edible and Best In Show, Rohan Forkner.
