Facebook off the handle

Facebook off the handle

Can you handle it, an Oxford St venue’s Facebook page asked?

But the social networking giant apparently could not, and banned Handle Bar from the site.

A final decision and warning email for promoters of the regular Saturday night event at Gilligans came simultaneously for breaching the site’s ban on sexually explicit material and nudity.

Handle Bar promoter, Peter, admitted he had been a bit naughty.

I did have a pic of a semi-erect penis on the event page I posted last, he told Sydney Star Observer.

They could have just pulled the pic off but they chose to go through the whole account and delete it all.

Peter said there may have been a boob or two as well, as patrons often did not wear very much.
Handle Bar described itself as the fag precinct’s easy peasy tease me pseudo sleaze bar, wide open and pulsing each and every Saturday night.

Adding a new layer of filth to Sydney’s festering scum scene, Handle Bar will offer the grimiest respite yet for homos, punks, misfits, slutchops, gaylords, nymphos, lesbos, bean queens, chic freaks, leather daddies plus the usual miscellaneous extraneous plus ones, the Facebook page stated.

Facebook declined requests to explain whether the photographs or the written content had breached the terms of use.

  1. This includes newspapers and paper packaging, reputedly highly biodegradable yet one can find nearly whole copies of newspapers from decades past in landfills. ,

  2. May I suggest Handlebar might try using an alternate social networking site called NING (www.ning.com).

There are no censorship restrictions, and NING has all the same features as facebook. NING allows you to edit the content headings, so it can be tailored specifically to the users requirements.

I hope the Handlebar guys read this and check NING out.

There’s always another way to “skin a cat” you just have to know how.

    GOOD LUCK GUYS!

  3. No they shouldn’t reinstate it. If the group can’t keep to the rules and guidelines they don’t deserve to have a profile on there. Every other person and group seem to be able to do it, so why can’t they.
