Lesbian night Bitch is celebrating its first birthday this Friday 7 July at Deckbar. Keeping with the theme of a first birthday, punters are encouraged to go dressed in their favourite childhood outfit, as their favourite character from childhood or as something they wanted to be when they grew up.

There will be prizes for best dressed as well as party food and games. DJs will include Sveta, Sista P, Renae Stanton and Beatrix, plus there will be live shows, vocalists and musicians. Doors open 7pm, entry $5. For more go to the BitchNews website.

Arq is doing a membership drive throughout the month of July. A 12-month membership costs $25. As well as some serious perks, this year people who become members will be getting a little surprise when they sign up and join the Arq family, David Twyman, the nightclub’s promotions and marketing manager, said. He added it was going to be a huge year for international and national talent at the club.
