Paddlers ready to breathe fire

Different Strokes, the all new GLBT Dragon Boating club, is once again calling for new members, so if you missed out in the first round here is your opportunity to get involved.
Group president Justin Rabe is looking for at least another 10 people to join the club.
We’ve had a couple of people drop out and there were a few months between the period when we made the initial announcement and actually got the committee together, so a few people who had registered their interest maybe lost some momentum -” so we’d really like to see any of those people come back to the club, Rabe told Sydney Star Observer.
We now have our committee together and we’re getting ready for our first AGM in August. We’re on the water and training hard for the beginning of competition in November, which is really why we need some more people so that we could start running two training sessions a week.
Rabe said numbers were healthy, but that adding a few more people to the group would ensure regular training and competition sessions.
At the moment if just a couple of people go away for a weekend or something we’re forced to cancel an entire training, he said.
Everyone’s pretty new to it, so no one needs to worry about starting a bit later, and it really is the perfect time to get involved and get ready for the competition season.
So to anyone who either forgot to register as a member or anyone who now thinks they’d like to be involved, we’d like to hear from you.
