Pike calls it quits

Victorian Labor MP Bronwyn Pike has announced her retirement from politics.

The former health and education minister made the annoucement this afternoon.

Pike – who holds the seat of Melbourne – has been a strong supporter of LGBTI issues during her time in parliament.

A strong advocate of same-sex marriage, Pike also helped secure funding for anti-bullying initiative the Safe Schools Coalition Victoria and Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria.
