Politician resigns over Grindr scandal

Politician Roberto Arango, a Republican party senator from Puerto Rico who made news last week when explicit photos appeared on his alleged Grindr profile, has resigned.

A statement from a senate spokesman called the circumstances leading to the senator’s resignation “unfortunate,” adding that “I am confident that with the resignation of the legislature [we] can terminate this case and focus on the discussion of issues important to our people.”

The senator’s resignation will be effective August 31.

Pedro Julio Serrano, the founder of gay rights group Puerto Rico for Everyone, said Arango voted in favor of Resolution 99, a proposal that would block any attempt to permit same-sex marriages in the US territory. He also helped block a measure to ban sexual discrimination in the workplace and opposed adoption rights for gays.

  1. And he was dumb enough to post photos of himself on Grindr (a gay dating site I presume??)

  2. This is awesome. It just goes to show the most vocal, most hateful are simply trying to detract attention from what they hate so very much about themselves.
