Picnic for car lovers

Picnic for car lovers

Melbourne motor enthusiasts will get their engines started for Motafrenz’s picnic in the park this weekend.

Motafrenz is an LGBTI-friendly car club that has been around for more than two decades for car aficionados of all descriptions.

The group used to meet annually during Midsumma for its Concours d’Elegance event where proud car owners would show off their pride and joy in style.

This event has since been replaced with a picnic day where Motafrenz members can display their cars in a more relaxed environment.

The picnic will be held on Sunday, October 23 at McLeay Park, Belmore Rd, North Balwyn from noon. Cost is $5 per car owner.

The group has urged those intending to drink alcohol at the event to organise a car pool with a designated driver.

The club has around 120 members who have a combined collection of more than 200 cars.
