ACON Northern Rivers The Radical Faeries are hosting a Faerie Gathering for the Summer Solstice. This will take place from December 16 -23 at the fabulous Faerieland near Nimbin, NSW. Gathering commences Sunday, December 16 with an opening circle and ritual at 3pm. Cost is $20 per day, however no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please register for the gathering so the Faeries can feed everyone – email through the website and go to the ‘Contact Us’ page on ozfaeries.com.

The Radical Faeries are mostly gay male-ish and hold a space for queer people who are on a journey of uncovering what lies beyond their bodies.  The 2012 Summer Solstice Gathering will be what you make of it. Faerie is about what is alive in you and the Gathering is a time to share this with others. You don’t have to live at Faerieland to be a Faerie. You don’t even have to be an outrageously gorgeous creature or a shape-shifting enigma. But you probably are!

The Faerieland Solstice Gathering needs helpers.  If you would like to come in the week before the Gathering to help set up and build then please email us. You will need to bring: torch, mozzie repellent, sleeping gear, musical instrument, drag, a tent (they do have some indoor accommodation – if you have a need to sleep indoors, please let them know). Please come prepared to help build community – cooking meals, washing up, shopping, assisting with ritual, caring for each other as needs arise, leading a workshop if you have a talent or skill to share. The Fourth International Queer Fruits Film Festival will take place December 29-30 in the Grand Auditorium, Lismore and District Workers Club, a wonderful Festival venue.

Queer Fruits Film Festival was established to provide a vital regional screen culture event to enable the LGBTIQ communities and wider community to participate in the celebration and innovation of international queer filmmaking culture.

Established as an independent queer film festival, Queer Fruits Film Festival seeks to complement the screen culture and outreach events of major urban film organisations, whilst also providing significant career development opportunities for regional LGBTIQ filmmakers locally.
