Easter excitement

Easter excitement

Rolling out of the last weekend, I have once again made a promise to work off every single chocolate-covered object I placed in my mouth over the last few days.

Easter is such a fabulous holiday, one of my favourites. Who could not love the giving and receiving of chocolate?

The weekend started with the annual Good Friday midnight cruise. As usual Penny Tration and I were commissioned to perform the arrival show, with a theme of Get Piss-eidon Adventure. You can imagine our excitement. To perform the arrival show is such a buzz, as you have a captive audience, a sea of staff members all eager to get aboard and start the celebration, not to mention the many tourists who visit Circular Quay.

After many years of dreaming, it was my opportunity to do my long-awaited Shelley Winters show. A fat suit was needed and the floppiest wig I could muster. There was going to be a morning after, whether the audience liked it or not.

When the show had finished, I was met with a thunderous applause. Holding off on the alcohol really does add to the audience appreciation.

After a quick towel-down and change of outfit, it was time to take advantage of the free bar. Though the water was very choppy, the night was a huge success.

Nursing a huge hangover on Saturday night, I sheepishly made good on my promise and headed up to see the MerDrag show at Stonewall Hotel, dragging my girlfriend Verushka Darling along. MerDrag stars the always fabulous Beyonce G-Spot and two very gorgeous boys, who dance up a storm. With amazing video, great costumes and exhausting choreography, MerDrag is a must-see show for all those avid drag fans.

In the spirit of things, we both ventured down to Slide for a quick caprioska, then to Palms to have a little boogie. Soon our feet could not handle any more of our spins and dips, so after a quick supper stop at Olympic Yeeros, we were both at home waiting for the Easter bunny.

Though I know I should not be eating loads of chocolate, it was a great opportunity to binge a little and return to my childhood just for a couple of days.

I hope everyone had a great Easter and that you were lucky enough to get a visit from the Easter Bunny.
