Frontrunners take on the hills of Maroubra

Sydney Frontrunners’ Matt Webster left Maroubra last weekend with a bronze medal after competing in an 8km team running event.
High humidity and the threat of rain on the day did nothing to dampen the Frontrunners’ spirits as they made their way across the hilly course.

Webster took out third place overall in the 4km challenge, a win which also brought the accolade of fastest competitor in his age group. Frontrunners trainer Wayne Morgan and Jim Box similarly won first place positions for their respective age groups. Other participants, like Jeannie Sotheran, outdid themselves on the day, producing their fastest times yet for the season.

The results added up to an overall sixth place position for the 4km team. “Not bad, considering there were over 20 registered teams in the event,” Morgan told Sydney Star Observer before congratulating everyone who had taken part.
Trophies will be presented at next week’s club picnic.
