Worse than Rebecca Black?

Norwegian singer Tonje Langeteig has become an internet sensation with critics likening the quality of her debut single to Rebecca Black’s Friday.

I Don’t Wanna Be A Crappy Housewife is definitely one of the year’s most memorable songs – for a number of very different reasons.

The aspiring pop star, who came to fame on the Norwegian version of Dating In The Dark, explores the unusual theme of a having mid-life crisis in her upbeat pop song, declaring: “I woke up one morning and I thought I was young, but no no no my youth was gone”.

She then sings about going to the disco before getting philosophical again with the lyric “”when I’m six feet under, when I’m dead – I don’t want dirt on me, but make up instead”.

The video is just as interesting. Tonje and a group of her friends hit up a nightclub in the middle of the day and she spends most of the clip dancing with her rappers.

I Don’t Wanna Be A Crappy Housewife has already scored 500,000 views on YouTube and is available to download from Australian iTunes now.

Is Tonje the new Rebecca Black or has she raised the bar for unconventially talented pop stars to brave new heights?

  1. This is definitely worse than Rebecca’s song. Rebecca was quite laughable, but this isjust not funny. Who thought this would be a good idea?
