Mormons take action over calendar

The man behind the Men on a Mission calendar of semi-naked Mormon missionaries is facing disciplinary action by his local president.

Chad Hardy produced emails from the Warm Springs Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints claiming he had broken his priesthood and engaged in a project considered inappropriate.

I suppose the church will need to send a similar letter to Brother Marriott for all of the pornography that his hotels sell to customers each year -“ a multi-million dollar revenue source -“ not to mention the voluminous amounts of alcohol, Hardy hit back.

Perhaps the church itself will need to pull inappropriate television shows off their KSL TV network in Utah such as Will & Grace, which is based on adult humour and homosexual characters, which the church does not endorse or support.

Hardy added that one model had returned to active involvement with the church after the calendar was produced.

The calendar, now in its second year, had been marketed to gay men following the popularity of the book and film Latter Days about a gay Mormon love story.
