auroraProminent LGBTI charity the Aurora Group is gearing up for their annual ball in June, revealing the 2013 theme and host in an announcement last Tuesday.

The theme for 2013, ‘Yesterday Once More,’ pays tribute to the 1920s-era Artists’ Balls held in Sydney Town Hall to raise funds for veterans of the First World War.

Aurora Group events director Wayne Cox said the theme was “inspired by fundraiser events of the past”.

“We are very excited to offer our guests an opulent and lavish night, with art deco influences and a stellar line-up of guests,” Cox said.

While AURORA have kept mum about this year’s keynote speaker, former Logies and Big Brother host Gretel Killeen will MC the night. Killeen has previously had hosting duties at Sydney Mardi Gras and served as a goodwill ambassador to UNICEF.

The ball will also include a discounted youth table for the first time to cater for young LGBTI people who might not otherwise be able to afford admission.

All money raised from the night will go towards LGBTI charities and support networks.
