Good sports
Congratulations to Sydney Star Observer on its new and regular sports content. This paper really does see the importance of sport in our community and Team Sydney is pleased to be working with the editorial team as together we promote sport and healthy lifestyles.
Last weekend at Team Sydney’s AGM, changes to our constitution were widely recognised as levelling the playing field for women to be involved. The incoming board committed to simplifying both the voting systems and the involvement requirements for member clubs. We thanked retiring director G.J. Lee for her service and welcomed Wally Salinger as secretary of the Sports Council.
You can see all about our Sports Day Out at the foot of this page. It really is a chance to meet and engage with people from the gay and lesbian sports clubs. As well as looking forward to meeting you we want especially to hear from clubs and organisations that would like to have a presence on the day. This is a great opportunity to showcase your activities, your training programs and even your products. Send an email or visit our website to find out more.
The other important thing we want to remind clubs about is the 2008 Mardi Gras Festival. Yes, we know it’s early but we are nearly at the deadline for clubs to submit details of their events for next year. If you have a club planning a sports event for Mardi Gras let us know now. Don’t miss out on the fabulous publicity that Mardi Gras brings. Details on the Team Sydney website.
Last week this page featured a great friend of ours, Ji Wallace. Keep tabs on him at www.myspace.com/jiwallace.
