And the winner is …

The second ALSO Awards, celebrating the ALSO Foundation’s 30th birthday, was certainly an affair to remember.

There are many unsung heroes in the community and last night’s Awards was an occasion to celebrate those who often put in long hours for the community without much recognition.

  1. @anthony….unfair and inappropriate comment about a person who has given so much to not only trans issues but also works for equality for gay and lesbian people. I wonder how you would feel if you had given unselfishly the amount of time, energy and effort that Sally has only to find a person like yourself tries to cloud the moment when the community wants to say thanks.

I’d have to assume you dont know Sally personally. …..otherwise you’d be saying thanks along with everyone else.

  2. All worthy winners bar one in my opinion, Sally Goldner – I mean really what has she done to further the advancement of Gay/Lesbian people?

I’d like to see the number of votes that were garnered for that award, Yeah she has a radio show on 3CR but in terms of achieving outcomes surely there are more worthy activists who actually have achieved outcomes and not just speak of change.

Quite obvious this was a blatant attempt by the organisers to be politically correct and not forget the T from GLBTI!!

  3. Great list, good to know who won and the photos people have on facebook shows it was a good night
