Trance Mission – mixed by MaRLo

This is the first ever trance CD for Onelove, with the record label no doubt hoping to capitalise on the enduring popularity of the genre. It comes after the massive Aussie response to touring trance superstars like Tiesto, Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren, so it seems fitting that this debut outing is mixed by another European trance head – Dutch-born Australian resident MaRLo.

From the first beats of Michael Woods’ anthemic opener Airbourne onwards, it’s an uplifting, life-affirming mix. Trance may be slightly unfashionable cousin to a lot of other dance genres, but it’s popular for a reason – and that’s made clear across these 32 winning tracks. Just listen to the ever escalating synths of 4 Strings Cheesecake (yes, as the name suggests it is a bit cheesy) or the bowel-shuddering beats of MaRLo’s own Silverback and try to resist the temptation to dance.
