A new ‘study’ claims to show that eating fast food and not getting enough sleep can cause homosexuality.

The unusual paper, ‘Modern diet and stress cause homosexuality: a hypothesis and a potential therapy’ was published on the website of researcher Rita Strakosha, Queerty has reported.

The self-published study is notably not peer-reviewed.

Strakosha’s paper claims that LGBTI people eat more fast food and are more likely to have an unbalanced diet, and concludes that this is a cause of homosexuality.

She wrote that eliminating foods high in fats and sugars from one’s diet could “decrease and… prevent the return of homosexual attractions”.

Stratkosha said sleep deprivation is also a factor in causing homosexuality.

She recommended people who want to stay straight should “steer clear of food that can be disruptive right before sleep, like heavy or rich foods, fatty or fried meals, spicy dishes, citrus fruits and carbonated drinks”.

The author cautioned that diet and sleep may not work to cure everyone’s homosexuality.

“Persons with a longer history of homosexual attractions and those with stronger prenatal or genetic factors would have more difficulty in achieving benefits from this therapy,” she noted.
