LGBT youth group seeks community support for new dedicated space

A NATIONAL organisation that advocates for LGBT youth has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help raise funds to build Victoria’s first dedicated space for and led by LGBT youth.

Minus18’s Atrium is being billed as a space where LGBT youth can be empowered to create change in their communities, where young people can meet other LGBT youth and feel at home, and a space where young people from all over Melbourne can come and be themselves.

Minus18 launched the crowdfunding campaign for the Atrium at 6.30pm yesterday, setting the target at $20,000. In less than 24 hours, $3000 was already raised.

“The Atrium takes us to the next level in the hopes of supporting tens of thousands more LGBT young people with a place where they belong.”

Minus18 has more than 50 young volunteers and activists working to create an Australia free from homophobia and transphobia.
