Courtney Act has never abided by the restrictive boundaries of mainstream culture. With aspirations of releasing her first independent EP, we expect nothing less than highly creative and individual promotion campaigns -“ and that’s precisely what we’ve got.

Literalising Britney’s infamous lyrics, Courtney has divided herself into lots of little pieces in a mosaic-style photograph. Each single image is for sale on her website. Funds raised will go toward her first independent album set to be released this summer.

Each piece costs $10 and scores a limited edition autographed copy of the EP, as well as an advanced digital copy of the first single due for release later this year.

Courtney’s progress can be followed online with weekly video podcasts keeping you entertained and informed on the many obstacles involved in releasing an independent record.

The EP will be coming out this summer. There will be a live show to support that, which I am totally looking forward to, Act told Sydney Star Observer.

There is a campaign going on Facebook to get me on to Dancing with the Stars. Joining the group and getting me on to the show would be awesome for my career. I’m just excited for the costumes and hair.

The album will have a high energy pop/electro/dance sound. Think Britney meets the Veronicas with a touch of the unforgettable Spice Girl attitude.

It will definitely be fun, gay and awesome to listen to on the dancefloor, Act said.

I have been writing and co-writing with lots of people including John Foreman and The Veronicas so there is a really diverse range of inputs.

The EP is still in the recording stage and needs community support to ensure its release. For a figure who has advanced the causes of the GLBT community so greatly, and with such tact, there is no one better to get behind -¦ or under.
