WHAT’S ON: Jurassic Lounge

A FEW nights each year, once the doors have closed to the public, Jurassic Lounge takes over the Australian Museum in the CBD: bars, DJs and performers pop-up amid the dinosaurs, precious gemstones and ground-breaking exhibitions.

Next Thursday, February 19, Jurassic Lounge: Mardi Gras transforms Sydney’s wildest venue into a colourful party celebrating Sydney’s vibrant queer culture. Performers, artists, scientists and comedians will remix the Museum into a surprising playground for 2000 grown-ups.

Jurassic Lounge is a chance to sample acts and speakers from the Mardi Gras program, alongside red-hot talent including drag artist Carmen Geddit, DJ Sveta, Andea Darling (who’ll lead a giant dance lesson) and performers from Sydney’s favourite underground queer party, Unicorns. Also back are Jurassic Lounge staples, including the Silent Disco, Date Roulette, photo booths, crafts, giant games, stick insects, live reptiles, and much much more.

The last Jurassic Lounge sold out in advance, so get your tickets now: www.jurassiclounge.com
