Britain: ‘gay-free zone’ arrest

A British Muslim who put up stickers with Koranic citations that declared London’s East End a ‘Gay-free zone’ has been rearrested less than two months later for defacing un-Islamic billboards.

Mohammad Hasnath, 18 was convicted and fined the equivalent of $250 in June after being caught on CCTV putting up four of the stickers – of which there were hundreds – which carried the phrase ‘Arise and warn and fear Allah: Verily Allah is severe in punishment’, with a picture of the gay flag inside a black circle with a line through it and the words “gay-free zone”.

Towards the end of July, Hasnath and another youth, Muhammed Tahir, were arrested spray painting burkas over billboards which depicted women after members of the public contacted police.

Prosecutor Taiwo Akinrowo told the court that the pair told police that “the way the women had been photographed was against their religion and they said it was a sin in Islam for a male to look twice at a woman who is not covered”.

The pair were fined the equivalent of $450 each and released on a one year suspended sentence.

  1. Time for some “GAY ANARCHY” too. Perhaps we should put up posters saying: “STRAIGHT FREE GAY COMMUNITY.”

If you look at what has happened to our community. Reports coming out of New York. Say they feel betrayed by the gay rights movement with the loss of our lifestyle, way of life, identity, culture etc.

This should never been allowed to happen. Gay rights should never have been about compromising. We have become a very REPRESSED community because of it.

Becoming mainstream is the worst thing to happen to the gay community.

  2. If they don’t like it they can go back to whatever Islamic country they; or their parents; came from.
