Canberra gets new hub

Canberra’s LGBTI organisation Diversity ACT has a new home with the opening of the Diversity ACT Hub last Saturday.

The network provides free counselling services, education classes and specialist support for LGBTI individuals in need.

The Kambah-based centre will also act as a safe place for queer youth and a recreational hub for all community members to socialise at.

Federal Canberra MP Gai Broadtman and ACT Chief Minister Katy Gallagher opened the hub on March 23.

After close to six months of renovations and redecorations, the hub is now ready for use.

One of the most notable achievements for the ACT Diversity team has been to lobby the territory government for a property for the hub.
