A&F worried about Jersey Shore image

Fashion label – and not so secret gay men’s fetish – Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) have put out a statement regarding their concerns over the cast of MTV reality series Jersey Shore wearing their clothing.

A&F wants to pay cast member ‘The Situation’ (aka Mike Sorrentino) to not wear any of their line, because they think it’s bad for business.

“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans. We have therefore offered a substantial payment to Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and the producers of MTV’s The Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”

Would seeing a cast member of Jersey Shore wearing an item of clothing turn you off the label?

  1. No problem at all…..lets start a anti-A&F facebook wall and get the word out the their brand is no longer a desirable brand for leading edge, trendsetting shoppers. We can find another brand that wont be paranoid about being associated with us. Any suggestions for the new 2011 and beyond ‘gay’ brand of choice?
