Hit songwriter calls out Riri and Bieber

Heather Bright is an aspiring pop singer in her own right but she’s better known for writing hits for superstars like Rihanna and Justin Bieber – although the big names might stop calling after the songwriter’s interview with Free-Wired, in which she calls out the famous pair for claiming fake publishing credits.

The woman behind Justin’s Somebody To Love and Britney’s Trouble For Me claims the practice is rife in the music industry.

“It depends on who you are – Rihanna takes publishing, Justin Bieber takes publishing, Kanye West takes publishing,” she reveals.

“On all the stuff that they don’t write, they take publishing.”

When asked how teen sensation Justin Bieber got his name on the Somebody To Love (below) songwriting credits, Heather laughed and said: “That’s an interesting question. I don’t know.”

Bright did praise Lady Gaga for writing her own music and tried to explain away Rihanna’s allegedly fake songwriting credits.

“You can’t be Rihanna and be producing and writing records… you just won’t have time,” Heather told Free-Wired.

“All the appearances, the performances, and the ‘this,’ and the ‘that,’ you gotta show up to record, you gotta promote the album, go on tour.”

“I mean, people like Lady Gaga – It’s amazing that they can find time to write!”
