New president for Hustlers

Brisbane’s inclusive rugby union team, the Hustlers, will have a new president after its current president Charles Gregory announced that he would be leaving Brisbane next year.

Gregory has previously played for the Sydney Convicts and was a fundamental part of the Hustler’s reforming. He has been the president of the team since it reformed earlier this year.

He said that he would be heading back to Sydney after taking a transfer for work.

“While it is sad to be leaving Brisbane and the Hustlers, I am happy that the team got off to such a good start this year, and has a solid base for next year,” Gregory told the Star Observer.

Previous vice president Aaron Fleming will be taking over as president. Gregory said that there was strong team committee of eight who were very excited and looking forward to next year’s local competition.

Gregory thanked everyone involved for their support this year and said that he believed the team and the running of the Purchas Cup would not have been so successful without it.

“It was the difference that made the day so exciting with so many spectators and supporters.”
