Belvoir lends its artistic flair to Aurora’s night of nights
Neil Armfield, artistic director of Company B, is the keynote speaker for this year’s Hollywoodland themed Aurora dinner. Drawing upon his experiences as one of Australia’s leading stage and film directors, Armfield is sure to entertain and inform the sold-out crowd at the Paddington Town Hall.
All 420 tickets for the event have already been sold, with eager charity supporters jumping at the chance to be a part of the evening, which ensures a nonstop bevy of gourmet food and deluxe entertainment.
I’m very pleased with the strong support shown for the Aurora annual dinner, Aurora chairperson Alex Sosnov said.
Each year we keep growing, building on the history of this fabulous event. Aurora does important work supporting community organisations and projects, and the annual dinner is our main fundraiser. We provide a world class celebration of community with fun and fundraising at its core.
Featuring alongside Armfield on the world class line-up will be hosts Bob Downe and Nell Schofield, who will guide audiences through the array of performances from Peter Cousens and Trisha Crowe, as well as the Helpmann Award nominee, Mitchell Butel, and Altar Boyz star Jeremy Brennan. Michael Tyack will feature as musical director for the evening and Mitzi Macintosh will make a triumphant return to stage.
There will be a range of prizes and items for auction in an effort to raise more funds for the Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service, including holidays, artworks, a range of Hollywood memorabilia and even a pair of autographed swimmers from gay Olympic diver, Matthew Mitcham.
