Gaga goes country

Gaga goes country

Lady Gaga has released a country version of her worldwide smash Born This Way, perhaps in celebration of the song spending a 6th consecutive week at number one in America – a career best for the superstar.

With a little help from producer Fernando Garibay, ‘Mother Monster’ has peeled away the autotune and Madonna-esque 80s pop production that defined the original version, replacing them with a raw vocal and guitars.

The finished product sounds like Jon Bon Jovi’s 1990 hit Blaze Of Glory – only with lyrics about living a transgendered life.

Born This Way (The Country Road Version) has been dismissed by some as an inauthentic and unnecessary attempt to show off the diva’s versatility but it’s an amusing distraction for fans looking for a Gaga fix as patiently await the May release of her new album.

It does, however, raise the question – is the biggest name in pop getting a bit too weird for the mainstream, with her alien face implants and bluegrass remixes?

Listen below and decide for yourself.

  1. Our Gaga, Mother Monster, sells messages of love, acceptance, understanding and kindness to one another. I love her music in any style! She is amazing and has done so much to raise awareness of injustice in the world, and has helped those who feel lost or invisible or bullied or just plain misunderstood to feel they are persons of worth and value! Thank you for sharing this newest edition.
