It’s all Gossip to Amorosi

Vanessa Amorosi’s new single, Gossip, hits the stores today.

The electro-pop track with a dab of dub-step is inspired by society’s obsession with social media and not believing everything you read.

“I wanted to get some positive messages out there. I wanted people to connect and relate with me through my life experiences,” Amorosi said.

The video for Gossip – which is released on July 11 – was filmed in the historic Labassa Mansion in Melbourne. Amorosi again enlisted the services of director Stuart Gosling (Nelly Furtado, Good Charlotte, Tom Jones), who also directed the awarding winning video for Mr Mysterious and clips for Perfect and Kiss Your Mama.

Amorosi’s new album will be called V and has been in production for a year. It boasts an exciting swag of producers including Linda Perry (Pink, Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keyes) John Fields (The Presets, Bag Raiders), Jimmy Harry (Pink, Kylie, Britney, Kelly Clarkson) and Chris Lorde Alge (Green Day, Rise Against, My Chemical Romance, Paramore).

V is scheduled for release in November and is the follow up to the 2009 album Hazardous which debuted in the ARIA top 10 and is certified platinum.

The album produced the double platinum ARIA #1 single This Is Who I Am, amassing more than 1 million views on youtube and reaching the #1 position on the radio airplay chart.

Amorosi’s platinum single Perfect from her 2008 album Somewhere in the Real World has now been played on Australian radio for a record 114 weeks, the longest stint ever for an Australian artist (The Music Network).

The track with legs was also the most played Australian song on Australian radio in 2008, it’s easy to see how she achieved the #4 most played Australian artist on Australian radio for 2010.
