A GLOBAL social media moment to show support for former US Olympian-turned-reality TV star Bruce Jenner who recently announced he is a trans woman started in Sydney, Australia.

The movement has seen men and women painting their finger nails and posting photos of it on social media along with the hashtag #PaintYourNailsForBruce.

Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer, which was watched by more than 17 million people in the US, sparked radio personality Kyle Sandilands to paint his nails as a sign of support through his radio station’s Twitter account. Since then countless others have followed suit:

In the interview with Sawyer, Jenner hopped that with his public announcement he would “be able to have my nail polish on long enough that it actually chips off“.
