A unique concert is scheduled for Sunday 7 April celebrating the life of the late Richard Wherrett. Devised by Sydney Theatre Company artistic director Robyn Nevin and Sydney Festival director Brett Sheehy, the night will feature over 40 friends and colleagues revisiting their original roles in a vast array of plays and musicals that Wherrett had directed. The shows include Cabaret, Chicago, Nicholas Nickelby and Away, with stars including Angela Toohey, Jacki Weaver, Nancye Hays, Graham Harvey, Sandy Gore, Jodie Gillies and Geraldine Turner. Funds raised from the evening will benefit the STC Richard Wherrett Fellowship (initiated by Nevin), which will allow a young director to work within the company, as a creative legacy of Wherrett’s work. The Floor Of Heaven -“ A Tribute To Richard Wherrett begins at 7:30pm at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House. Tickets are $60+GST, plus the option of a donation to the Fellowship.
