THE OVERCOAT

The major theatrical event of the festival (pictured), The Overcoat is a wordless adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s short stories Diary Of A Madman and The Overcoat. Twenty-two actors from the Canadian company Canstage mime, dance and swirl through an enormous set while the music of Shostakovich keeps beat. For Page, this was great storytelling told on an operatic scale. At the Festival Theatre from 2 to 6 March.
