Around 1,900 revellers saw in the New Year at the annual Sydney Pride party at Fox Studios. While this was a small increase on last year’s attendance, it wasn’t enough to make a profit for the struggling company which has posted significant losses over the last four years.

Jude Tarran of Sydney Pride said she was as yet unable to say how much money the organisation would lose on the event.

Titled M?ge ?rois, the party was held in the venues Stage 11 and The Dome, plus there was an outdoor dance floor under a marquee.

Tarran said the highlight of the night was the 3am show by singer Shauna Jensen, who devoted her performance to Pride board member and DJ, Sioux Spears, who died from a heart attack in November 2004.
