The sexy Navy trumpet player from Australian Idol is back on the music scene with his new album The Rise.
Carl Riseley made the final three on the popular karaoke contest and is now making a beeline for the top of the music charts with the album and debut single, This Guy’s In Love With You.
The 25-year-old told SSO he wanted to create and release an album packed with songs that represented good times in his life.
While the album is yet another of covers, Riseley said he did all the arrangements himself and was not yet ready to start releasing original material.
I got a lot of feedback from fans on how they loved what I did with the songs and changed them up into the big band style, Riseley told SSO.
To be completely honest I’ve only been singing for a couple of years and I never even thought about doing originals. It can be quite a fine art in arranging something. It’s all new for me.
There are no artists out there who have done this style or any of the songs in the swing style. I’ve got a really nice orchestra section as well as the big band.
To support the release of the new record Riseley will perform at the Rooty Hill RSL on Friday 6 June and also at the The Basement on 7 and 8 June.
The show will be a little bit different from Idol but I think everyone should come along if they like the album and want to see something live. It will be a classy night out, he said.
