Girly fun in the city’s west

Six Quick Chicks will be staged at the Riverside Theatre every Friday night during the month of May.

The show will be a combination of burlesque, kooky cabaret, stand-up comedy, music and dance.

Show host Vashti Hughes said all the performers in the production embrace the absurd and unexpected elements of life.

Each night there are six of us who come on individually and have 10 minutes or less to get the audience laughing. We come from a wide range of performance backgrounds, she said.

Lesbians out west would love this show. It’s something they would usually have to come further into Sydney for. We did a Mardi Gras show at Will and Toby’s which also had a great gay guy turn-out who also loved it.

Hughes takes on the character of Mavis Brown in her skit – a repressed secretary extraordinaire who hosts the night.

Each week there will be six ladies on stage but the line-up will vary a bit from night to night.

The cast list will include Anita Douche, Liesel Barorrek, Lucy Suze Taylor, Annabel Lines, Jessie Hobeck, Jackie Loeb and Christa Hughes.

Some of our performers are lesbian and our humour is queer, Hughes said.

In this special edition of the show for Sydney’s west will be featured many of the most popular characters as well as some hilarious additions that are guaranteed to blow your skirt up.
