Belfast’s Gay Pride parade will take place as scheduled on 6 August, despite opposition from Christian groups, the city’s Parades Commission has announced.

The commission made its ruling after religious lobbyists called for a ban on the “offensive” gay and lesbian march, BBC News reported.

Gay Pride has been held in Belfast for the past 14 years.
