New Mardi Gras chair Marcus Bourget has urged the community to head to Home nightclub and get in the party spirit.

Homesexual is the reincarnation of the much-loved Queer Nation parties at Home nightclub, which were market leaders in party production during their four-year history. And the first party on Saturday 10 September is an official fundraiser for the 2006 Mardi Gras season, with $5 from each $30 ticket going to New Mardi Gras.

Bourget said he was delighted with the partnership and thanked Home for its support of New Mardi Gras at a crucial time in the organisation’s history.

I urge everyone to support Homesexual in the lead-up to Sleaze 2005.

The DJ line-up for Homesexual was finalised this week. DJs include Brisbane’s Matt Steer, Mandy Rollins, Shigeki, Greg Boladian, Jayson Forbes, Dan Murphy, Rado and Justin Scott. A special live act will be announced before the event.

DJs will play in four music zones and take advantage of Home’s new $1 million sound system. The speaker system is the same as one recently used in Rome which provided sounds to 35,000 people. Organisers believe it will make for crystal clear sound throughout the main room.

Meantime New Mardi Gras announced this week Aztech Events will produce the Sleaze Sinsuality party.

Lighting designer Brad Wright will join Aztech’s Grant Pisani and Darren Waide in the production team.

New Mardi Gras chair Marcus Bourget said Aztech would bring a young, fresh and dynamic approach to Sydney’s second biggest gay and lesbian party, adding punters could brace themselves for a stunner of a party.

Wright, a veteran on Sydney’s party and club scene, said Aztech was honoured to be involved. We look forward to delivering a kick-ass, quality product for the community, he said.

We are not afraid of challenges, and in fact embrace them, driving us to new creative heights with endless boundaries, Wright said.

As a team, we are excited to offer New Mardi Gras and the community a brand new and vibrant approach.

Homesexual will be held at Home nightclub on Saturday 10 September. Sleaze 2005 Sinsuality will be held on Saturday 1 October. Tickets are available at an early-bird price ($99/ $89/ $79) until Thursday 1 September. For more information visit the Ticketek website
